Strategies to make life easier in MS!
Plan for the long term
Try to answer just one simple question.

Try not to Cram:
It is enticing to deplete yourself with everything conceivable and do whatever you can do. However, watch out as this behavior can also backfire!

Deal with Your Body
The matter of utmost importance for you is to deal with MS. It is critical to deal with your physical and psychological health. Please note that Multiple Sclerosis does not secure you against other diseases.

- Lack of sleep,
- Skipping Medication, and
Take very good care of your psychological and physical health, not for anyone else, but for your sake!

Know the Symptoms of Depression
You may be wondering ‘stress and depression are two names of the same thing?’ NO!!
It is important that you clearly understand the difference between those two concepts.
Difference between stress and depression:
Stress is kinda good if it motivates to work. However, it’s controllable.
Depression, on the other hand, is more long-lasting, and serious than stress. It needs to be treated differently.. In a 2010 study by the American College Health Association:

- 8% looked for treatment for depression.

Assistive devices are your friends! Have those ready!
You may need:
- A wheelchair (electric or manual),
- a moving walker,
- a cane or stick now.

Always have gadgets ready to help you to move easily. Make those a part of your personality. You can decorate them as per your style!

Exercise is as significant as consuming a healthy diet and abstaining from stress to carry on with content & happy life with MS, Make it a habit. We have talked about its significance in a past post.
More or less, you should do moderate exercises on a continues basis. You can and should do the following 3 types of exercises:
- Aerobic exercises,
Aerobic activities will improve bladder and bowel function,
- Stretching exercises,
Stretching activities will profit in relieving stiffness & in improving adaptability, flexibility & mobility, and
- Strength training.
Strength Training exercises, as the name sounds, will help muscles gain necessary strength.
Make an MS friendly Home and Office
MS patient has restricted the storage of energy. it is essential to wisely use it. Hence, arrange your environment, with just one goal in mind:
you don’t use much energy.
To reach that goal you have to make sure that:
- Everything is organized,
- Things are reachable, and
- There’s minimal clutter
By office, we mean your table where you work and if you work from home them that room.
